To the west of San Francisco's Presidio Park, the lovely Baker Beach, nestled below rocks, offers a sublime view of the Golden Gate Bridge when, that is, the bridge is not enveloped in fog, which is present throughout much of the summer. Although swimming is not recommended here, the beach is a pleasant place to sunbathe (regular beach to the south, nudist beach to the north).
