The banks of the Tama stream are lined in stalls, beautiful black and white warehouses with red tiled roofs, breweries, cafés and restaurants, while the sweet scent of soya sauce and sake flows over into the adjacent streets. Traditional arts and crafts are still an integral part of the culture here: bamboo or ceramic items from the San-in region, Otsuka knives... A shop-workshop allows you to observe traditional kasuri weaving that produces indigo-coloured, geometrical printed fabric.
